Chevy Silverado Shown off.

This is a 2006 Chevy Silverado pickup. It also happens to be the newest one my wife and I own. After we had to stop driving our 1972 Chevy step side three quarter ton my wife and I needed another pickup to take its place. That means one that we could use to take care of our horses with and then drive long trips to Amarillo with.

This model was the only one available to us. We bought this pickup instead od a more expensive model because nether one of us need a lot of fancy new things to drive many miles with. It made it a lot easier to get used to without that four door extended cap used by folk in them big cities. This short old fashioned cab actually makes this pickup a lot more safer. You can just about avoid any accident because it is a lot easier to look off to the driver's side. The driver's window is also safer. It doesn't have ant wide body pieces holding it up at the sides. The driver has a wider outlook at the traffic in front of him.

Our pickup provides several other nice surprises. It certainly doesn't look like one of them old three quarter tons while it actually is one. This pickup also has a four wheel drive. This last helpfull convience is a lot nicer than the real old ones. One can shift it while in the cab and it gives the driver both a high and low four wheel gear. That can help one save some money on gas because the engine doesn't have to rev up into a high revolution per minute whenever one drives a bit faster in four wheel drive.

This old style pickup came with a standard transmission. Chevy also provided a revolution per minute meter so the driver could tell when to shift it without having to rely on how the engine sounded. This is a piece that all them diesel tractor trailers have to make it easier for the truckers to gear shift them. This small looking pickup has really helped me haul a lot of hay. Chevy even came out with a way one could use this new pickup to haul older trailers. The rear bumper has a slot to stick the trailer plug into anf the sizes can be easily changed.

I just got to hope that this kind of pickup doesn't disapear in the future no matter what kind of fuel is developed. This old fashioned pickup is equiped with all the new engine and transmission bits and pieces they use with the extended cab models. The transmission even has a fifth gear that one can use at seventy miles per hour. It really helps because the engine is kept at a relatively low RPM anf fuel milage increases.
